GS8 has secured planning consent to deliver a new mixed-use development in Watford, Hertfordshire.

GS8, a residential and commercial property developer, has announced it has secured planning consent to deliver a 146 unit, mixed-use development in St Albans Road, Watford and is the first phase to be awarded planning in Watford Borough Council’s Watford Junction Regeneration Masterplan.

The approx. one acre site is within easy reach of the Town Centre and Watford Junction station (a five-minute walk from the scheme) with a regular train service to London Euston (taking just 20 minutes) which is also set to undergo a major redevelopment.

Comprising four buildings providing one, two and three-bedroom properties, the development will benefit from a number of integrated features enabling residents to reduce their carbon footprint.

The site will also include some 3,550 sq ft of commercial space, 19 car parking spaces including seven car club bays, cycle parking, a children’s play area, with improved landscaping. In addition, the Grade-II listed Old Station House will be converted into an artisan tap room and community exhibition space, bringing the last remaining brewery, Pope’s Yard, back to Watford.
